Words from the Association

     On behalf of the 30 dedicated directors of the Jim Wells County Fair Association, we wish you a very warm WELCOME to the 2006 edition of the Jim Wells County Fair. For 69 years, a countless number of citizens have donated many hours of labor and contributed many dollars in financial support to the youth of our county. As we begin this year's fair, we say "Thank You" to each   and every supporter, both past and present.

    Over the past 13 years, I have watched our young exhibitors start out as 8-years olds and grow into young adults. I have seen them progress from needing 100 percent help, from their parents and other fair supporters, to becoming completely self-sufficient in their projects. These youngsters spend many months loving and caring for their animals and other projects. They gain a sense of responsibility and commitment. These qualities build character in young people that carries over to their future endeavors.

Once again, to all who donate their time, labor and financial contributions, I thank you for your past and continued support of the Jim Wells County Fair.
