City of San Diego

This city of 4,700 population is the county seat for Duval County.  Yet strangely enough, San Diego sits in both Duval and Jim Wells Counties.  This city has a rich history of ranching, hunting, oil and gas production.  Recent additions in San Diego include:

·        New High School – the first classes to enjoy this new facility started in August of 2003

·        Dollar Store - new retail facility opened in the 4^th quarter of 2003

·        Animal Control Facility – opened in the August/September time frame through the help the from  USDA Rural Development Fund
