News from Premont, Texas….besides the  

• 262 new street signs have been installed improving appearance, and making emergency vehicle response time much shorter.
• A modular U-Store complex of 20 – 25 units is in the planning stage
• With the refurbishing of  Hwy 281 will come $3.5 million in sidewalks, curbs and gutters, landscaping and improved drainage.
• The Brooks County C-Net, a wireless internet service, is expanding to include Premont.
• Cingular Wireless is erecting a taller tower to provide a clearer, stronger signal to the entire town.
• Several businesses including the new Landscape Depot nursery are expanding.

Mayor Rodriguez reports that the new Dollar General store will open soon!
