About the EDC
The
Alice & Jim Wells County Economic Development Corporation was established in
2002 as a countywide, nonprofit public-private partnership. Among its
purposes is the creation of jobs, attaining additional capital investment in
the community, and the creation of diverse tax revenues. It is operated with
local funds in the amount of $120,000 per year.
Mission
Statement
The mission
of the Alice Jim Wells County Economic Development Corporation is to
identify and facilitate improvement of existing and potential community
attributes and conditions which are conducive to economic development and
the marketing thereof, using a community-wide team approach.
Funds
are contributed by the following:

Jim Wells County - $40,000
Alice Industrial Foundation - $20,000
TOTAL:
$80,000
The
Board currently has one full-time staff member and is governed by a
9-member Board.
